Filling up vans

Fed up of colleagues who don't bother to put fuel in the van and just leave it for the floater to do. The rule in our office is not to leave it less than quarter of a tank, yet some a$$holes think its ok to leave it for when the fuel light comes on!!!

ah ha its not just me and my p & l partner that feel this way,,,,,we cover the 5 duties in a week being floaters,,,,we have a couple of decent postmen we cover but then have a few who "arnt decent" and when it comes to fueling the van we find the low light on regularly ,,,,,,sooooo crap as it seems we drive carefully and return the van with the light on,,,,i know that's sh+tty but we feel were dumped on

The worst are the collections lot in the afternoon, especially if you're the unlucky bugger who has just brimmed the van and it does the Liverpool Giro run....

Pretty certain doing this was discussed previously and it was found to be a big no-no, possibly even gross misconduct if I remember rightly?

I believe a manager was filling the vans up at a depot somewhere and banging all the points on her Tesco card, I'm not sure if she was sacked but there is a ruling points definitely only make trouble. The case was on here a while ago.

Legally you should report it to hmrc as it's extra income

Its also forbidden to receive them by royal mail as they are considered benefits in kind and is forbidden in the staff handbook

Not supposed to use the expensive diesel either,just the standard stuff,as they get charged a cheaper price for it.

We have our own fuel pump about 50 metres from the van park,still there are lazy bar stewards who can't even be ar$ed to drive that far to fill up

Ours only needs filling every 3-4 weeks, it's 5 years old and has done less than 12,000 miles!

Ooopppppssss . we have 40 lads who our all using points cards . nothings been done for years all fuel receipts have points awarded on this transaction , so wouldn't they be checked
