TRACKED ITEMS-Dont Fetch them Back To Office!

Post by gfboots »

Hello we.had a WTL today, we were told, regarding Tracked Items : if N/A, then try 3 neighbours, failing that, leave the item in a SAFE place ,but dont fetch them back! if you 739 them then you have got to fill a "REASON" form in on return to office. ( Its due to RM profits are down.)?
Not so long a go we were told, even if the item said "SAFEPLACE" you would be better 739 them! (it sounds like a U Turn to me?).
Also we were told Amazon delivery drivers work 12 Hour Shifts,7 days a week, for £5 an hour and they don't have a break?--So think yourself lucky!

As usual that WTL was pure tripe - £5 is below the legal minimum wage for directly employed staff and they must have a break by law.

We had that for 3 weeks now it's back to normal. about 100 tracked come back daily. Gave them some overtime i suppose , one of them each day staying back to watch us hobble back and check we had no tracked on us. Must have earned their bonus for it. They're back to normal as well doing NOTHING all day, makes me sick when posties are dieing due to being overworked . :thumbdown :evil/mad :thumbdown r.i.p. Mally.

no answer slip them we do the reason would be no one in , how does that effect r/m profits they had already been paid for it so it doesn't matter , you should have said the managers are on the same money per hour and have to work for it , lol

we were also told a wtl today to try 3 neighbours and if we bring any tracked back and it is before our finishing time that we would be sent back out with the tracked to try and deliver it again.sure enough on our return a manager was checking returns as we walked through the door.one postie who had brought a tracked item back told the manager he tried 3 neighbours but didnt feel comfortable leaving it anywhere cos it was his collapsing and he wasnt familiar with the neighbourhood.sounded perfectly acceptable to me but not to the manager of course.

Easy, the reason is NOBODY AT HOME! I cant believe how managers can make something so simple, unbelievably silly.

The union has to do something about this situation with the tracked items
It is simply impossible to get rid of every item

Our dom said try whole loop ! someone must be in! causing a lot of unhappy people in our walks, postmen knocking at all hours dropping off anyones parcels. Very silly. Get p/o's on our side like parcelforce , dump them there for them to pick up, you never know they might get custom again.

Yes I know there is no time on our duties to try next door etc. I cannot understand why the onus has to be on us......the customer has ordered the pkt then please be in....we have had to carry it round, it should be their responsibility to be in or leave a note as to where to leave it. Better still if they are at work, have it delivered to work place... not rocket.

Reason - the customer wasnt in, neither were the 3 neighbours, and there was no safe place. Sorted

Royal mail must have been set a first time delivery target by amazon or they must be planning to use the increased percentage rate to try and win new business. Most managers haven't done deliveries for years so they dont understand the time pressures and physical efforts that we deal with on a daily basis. Royal mail should be identifying the households that recieve the highest number of parcels and offering to subsidise the cost of a parcel box. This would make it easier for us and get the results that they demand!!

been told if you fetch tracked items back to the office it is now classed as a FAILURE
when you have completed your duty you are supposed to RE-ATTEMPT the item ( so either way ,they want you to work in your own time, either by re-attempting or filling in the "failure" form when you get back!

Ok. Then make sure tracked are delivered no matter how long it takes and then fail on your delivery. That's how they want it, then who are we to argue?
