Cut to the Chase - 2014 Agreements and Backdowns

Post by The_Wax_Man »

ok.

2013 will be remembered for it's "Nothing's agreed till it's all Agreed" posture. - Which actually turned into a fiasco where RM controlled everything that was going on.

Now here we are coming to the end of 2014 and what I am interested in seeing - without the LTB unnecessary mandatory waffle - Is in laymans one liners what the Union have agreed too with RM.

i.e

1. Acceptance of DTN without increased walk time

2. Acceptance of Annual Lapsing

3. Acceptance of unfavorable / non applicable over bonus incentive..

Please add yours below so we can have just a short list of facts

Things the Union have agreed with RM to do in 2014 - That was not discussed in the 2013 agreement message.

Well there was this little gem...
· A National joint review of delivery facilitated by ACAS that will enable us to address the concerns of delivery employees over the managerial approach to workload issues.

That bits not new, annual lapsing has always been allowed and was voted in by the union members

But the National approach to it has changed - hence the recent LTBs on the subject. It used to be local and in some places actually workable, now Image

This thread is a waste of time as the CWU is now agreeing to almost anything that Moya asks for, then dressing it up as a negotiated position.

Nothing we say on the front line is listened to anymore.

Well we haven't had a full time recruit in years, so it isn't in our neck of the woods. I would imagine on the interview they say that there is overtime available and they aren't joking it's practically obligatory to make a decent wage.

I have real sympathy for the reps at local level. They are on a daily basis getting members coming up to them with all sort of issues from the minor to the major and usually cant get hold of any area rep quickly for advice. The bullying is rife but managers tend to pick on the weaker ones who daren't even mention it to the rep let alone argue it with a manager. Most agreements now contain that lovely word "local". We all piss in the same pot so an agreement in lands end should be adhered to all the way to John ogroats.

I was speaking to a manager last week who said pretty much the same thing, that it was time that there was a core procedure to follow for every office rather than the free for all we have now. Who do we blame for the lack of unity, well no guesses for who I think it is and it's not Royal Mail who absolutely love the "local" agreement clause because they can get away with murder.

:shhhhh DVB. If you keep coming up with quotes like this, you will attract a regular contributor from the 'sea double you' to make a defense of his masters.
