PDA Batteries

Well what can I say about these?, absulute dross, whever they get down to anything under 30 per cent you get the annoying low battery signals. yesterday I had to hand over 3 recordeds without a signiture, bloody impossible for them to sign with that pop up . they need replacing. told my governor all I get is do your best.

Yes but 2 PDAs. one for the driver one for me.

our batteries often die before we comple

and our chargers only work with ignition on, yesterday by end of 1st loop both were beeping away dying

what i do is get punter to sign a 739 with the sticker on, get back to van and sign it on pda "signed on paper" cutting out the chance of caught forging a signature

they send your old one back & you get a new one the very next day!!

pot luck in ours, 1 fixed pda per pair and whoever grabs the spares 1st, folk do swap nearly dead batteries with anything going

Most of our PDAs have had new batteries in the last 6 months. Problems get reported daily and yet we still get problems with the PDAs. Yes there might be a charging cradle in the van, but thats only for the driver and it only gives a slight boost. In fact, some can go from 80% to like 35% in the space of an hour - bizarre!

Truth is there's nothing wrong with the batteries, it's the power wasting brick of a PDA with technology from over a decade ago. A modern PDA with a battery we currently use would probably last 24hrs solid without charging.

You could get the sack for not getting those signatures and just handing the items over, should be carrying a proof of delivery card to use in event of scanner failure

Nope , used to be on 24hr order. I asked last week for a replacement and was told they are no longer issuing new batteries. Would not surprise me to find out they are just swapping dud batteries between offices.
