What happens if a customer complains of not receiving an item that's been RM scanned as delivered?

Does RM pick up the replacement cost?

Would need more info, if you know you handed it to them/posted it, or delivered to neighbour as per official policy then I would say no,you did the job properly as per instructions and RM won't pay for replacement as they've got delivery confirmation, don't forget the pda also logs gps location of scan.

Alternatively if the item was left in unofficial place like bin/shed/behind plant pot/even unlocked porch then RM will probably have to pay but the postie who left the item will get grief for door stepping and not following procedure.

If you left it in the nominated safe place you will be okay. RM probably won't pay but it depends on the contract they have with the sender.

You may get grief if it said Safe Place but did not specifically state where, it all depends what safe place you selected.
