hi everyone
recently i have been spare quite a lot since new management came into my office, i have been shifted around a few offices now , which is frustrating to say the least. does this period normally last long or do all newbies get this? i was looking forward to getting a walk and knowing my routine as i was told at my interview for the job but seem to just be moved about non stop recently? we were never overstaffed before the new manager came in now everyday we are?

you are a reserve postman there to cover for people who are ill/holiday/day off. So this means moving round every day or week. It is a pain in the arse but it also means you won't stay in an awful walk for long term. I am full time reserve postman for almost 10 years.

whn i started i was on my training round for 6 months then it was put up for resign but because the person who signed for it kept being moved onto rural or the town centre routes i consistently covered it only being a reverse duty postie for about 6 weeks in all then we had our resign a year later an i was lucky to pick my own route unfortunatly the one i have is the first route to be split for summer savings and the last to given back to the duty holder. so im a duty holder for 6 months and a reserve for 6 months but since i have a knackered knee and havent done the driving assesment and refusing to work past my time they struggle to find things for me
