Bit fecking obvious
Staff off sick, lapsed rounds, etc.
If a DO can't get items delivered the Manager faces a bollocking and so does the DOM. - Instructions are 'Just get it Done'
Do you really think any DOM will admit upwards that they are failing.....

Our Dom has delivered leftover loops a fair few times, all the managers are regularly out and our rep will take stuff out until 4-5pm so the office doesn't fail.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

so according to this No Dom should be doing delivery.
Do you agree with it. I mean if a former postman is not too busy on one day, he can deliver the post, and remind himself what it is like to be a postman and how we deal with it and understand different things better.

It looks like Sue Whalley lives in the same cloud cuckoo land that the union hierarchy live in. The reality is that DOMs are not being allowed to recruit and when they are it is only part time to cover for full time duties. This impacts on indoor work which in turn impacts on outdoor work which in turn leads to incomplete duties which leads to managers delivering especially when they are also expected to lapse duties.

What does Sue Whalley mean by 'local issues'?
She probably means the 'awkward so and so's' that don't come in early, take their breaks and finish on their time either cutting off or leaving loops for the DOM to get rid of.
Cue more bullying and harassment to people that are doing the job properly.

Our office is being re-orgainsed so that linos can clock-watch us
Keeping their beady eyes on us making sure we are not chatting to colleagues or taking unnecessary coffee or toilet breaks. Possibly due to this weeks lengthy excess claims and because line managers would rather poke their own eyes out than do deliveries. Being authoritarian and punitive.
Oooops i just swallowed a dictionary or is it the big mac and fries im eating whilst watching the football scores??

i thought doms delivering was the masterplan. its been happening since just after xhmas and our doms our doing 2 - 3 rounds a day. sometimes working till 7pm. whos gonna speak up and risk their job about it. they are screwed just like us. not that I pity them
