No unfortunately could be reasonably asked to it it for whole shift. As long as individual gets his breaks

So unfair so they can keep me in the sorting for 1:45 while others only do 1:00

The fairness would depend on the structure of the duties and the traffic. If you start and finish within your duty time then fairness I am afraid plays no part.

If you still manage to finish all other tasks for the day by your contract finish time, there is nothing to worry about.

If finishing all other tasks for the day means you think you will go past your finish time, including taking your paid breaks, you have three choices...
Complete on authorised overtime
Agree how much authorised overtime you are prepared to do without completing
Inform your lino you want to finish at your contract finish finish time

Overtime is optional, not compulsory.

Well this is the problem cause I'm a good sorter i get punished for it! I've been cutting off everyday but he easily covers it with one of the gimps that have their eyes closed and run around for them but it's so unfair i have to do more sorting that everyone else tomorrow is my day off if my floater don't do it i have a discussion here haven't i??

I'd take extra IPS time over delivering more in the cold around Xmas, given the option, without a second thought!

We all have contract hours to fill, if your strength is sorting then why shouldn't your lino assign you what he/she feels is your strength? Maybe your cover's strength is delivering properly at superhuman speed, maybe their weakness is IPS.

Once you decide to cut off either at your contract finish time (taking account of meal relief), or you are only prepared to do some overtime without completing, why are you appearing to stress about how and who covers your cut off?

There was a limit introduced as part of indoor work methods!

It was agreed that you should have a 'task break' after a two hour stint; (that means you should be given a different task, not drink coffee or have a cigarettte).
