Are you allowed to come in on day off and work for no pay that's what happened a couple of weeks ago and last mon '2 of us are floaters and regular guys came in whwn we were on delivery and threw all 6 d2ds in frame 650 calls must of taking over hour to do each they then come in early and finish 2 hrs before they shd do , dom says nothing as they cut round up he then says we are too slow but we get in on time do d2ds first and try neighbours do job properly . Can Union stop them working day off for nothing and coming in early as we are fed up with being compared to them ,and why would anyone want to do this , I asked one of them he says he likes to finish early!!yet Dom is questioning are ot for being late

No the Union is not an employer they cannot DO anything. Theirs is a representative/recommendation type role and thats all they can do.

If it affects you all you can do is ask your rep to make representations to the managers, its up to the managers if they act on those recommendations.

Sorry thats a widespread misunderstanding of the rules. If anyone has permission (real or implied) then they are covered under both H&S and the Businesses own liability insurance.

Its also a sad fact that someone breaking in, is in under some circumstances also covered under both.

How about this situation, three workplace coaches allowed to come in two hours early
"to set up their work area" for four nights recently so they could get the Friday night off
in our MC. People are applying for Friday nights off in lieu anything up to three months in
advance only to be told" Book Full", reps just shrugged their shoulders and agreed "it was'nt
fair".It may be legal insurance & H&S wise but it's morally corrupt.
