walk sorted mail not aligned to prep frame

It amazes me the amount of prep frames in our office that doesn't accommodate the sequenced mail the way it should. For example I find it quite bizarre to see posties throwing in their walk sorted mail in different areas and on different rows of the frame instead of it following on. I was of the understanding that you started at the top left corner and finished at the bottom right hand corner of the bottom row, with the start of the loops identified in yellow. In a post p&l office I would have thought this would have been sorted at the time when the revision was implemented. It's then mind boggling to see posties (mainly reserves) reading off tatty pieces of paper and pulling out mail from all different areas of the frame ready to tie up :crazy:

I questioned a manager the other day about the above issue due to him wondering why it was taking so many reserves a long time to throw in and tie up (due to him worrying about lapsing not being done :roll: ) his response was.... 'isn't it supposed to follow on as on the frame'....err hang on a minute your a manager in a office that's supposed to be world class and you don't know half the prep frames are not right :roll:

This pisses me off when I see managers harassing reserves and accusing them of underperforming whens its not their fault :no no

to be fair in our office we had a revision just over a year ago,,,,

ye everything came up in the trays the way the fittings were set out.....over time lads have took it on themselves to moves bits,,,,to make it easier to pull out and tie up because "that's the way they walk it"......

im a floater so the 10 walks I see in a week several are like this,,,,1 has been wrong since day 1.....alls it takes it so write out what you need and the d.o.m if anygood will then fill out the relevant forms which informs the mail centre and then the mech mail arrives as you need it.

I "ask" the walk holders if they could rewrite the frame....but like most things there aint enough time in a day bla bla

An excellent post! You must've been watching me this morning....an A4 crumpled sheet to tie-up to from all corners of the frame.
One job I do has a new estate on it, no provision in the frame after 6 months. On a Tuesday I walked it in the most efficient way possible, wrote the order down and typed it up at home on the PC and laminated it. It is still in the frame as the 'bible' for that loop and used by all to tie-up. The frame however has still not been updated. So yes, this all does indeed waste time.

Yip when the dom support aint on delivery or covering locker duties, which our dom support is 5 days out of 6.
