Self-certification question

Am I right in thinking that if I am off sick from tomorrow and return to work a week on Friday that is covered by the Self-certification? Next week my day off is Thursday so returning to work on Friday would be the 7 days covered by the certificate and the 8th day is my day off.

I have been told to rest and take treatment for Plantar Fasciitis. Looking through other threads is it correct that RM will pay up to £30 to allow you to buy your own shoes if they receive conformation from a doctor?

Just make sure you call on next Wednesday to let them know you will be returning Friday because they will add your day off as sick absent

Yes as brazil1212 says, you need to inform them on the Wednesday that you will be fit to return to work on your exempt day, Thursday, or they will count that as a sick day and will need a GP certificate as it's over 7 days.
I don't know if they give you some sort of proof that you called. At my former MC we would be given a 'Return to Work' reference number so that we could prove that we had phoned to resume.

Do you get RM or ATOS to contact the doctor for a conformation note? As when I mentioned it to my GP she said that they would charge £20 for a note to give RM but would not charge if it was a reply to RM!!

Allegedly if you can wangle a "fit note" by saying you'll have to go sick your doctor may give you one for free.

RM accept a fit note

The letter/statement costs 20/25 and is a piddle take IMHO

But then again,what price comfort?
