Part time to full time - seniority

Post by monkeymutha »

Some guidance needed here. Basically I am the most senior part timer at my d/o, however less senior part timers have been made up to full time (couple weeks ago) whereas mine has not been authorised and I am still part time. Dom says he has processed it but am still waiting, want it sorted before I go on holiday else I lose out. Can I put in a grievance about this? My rep is dom poodle so no use asking him, have already complained to him and dom. What to do please?

Assuming that you have an unblemished service record and when you state " mine has not been authorised" this is not at DOM stage as he has advised that it has been processed then you need to follow the paper trail to HR Services if they have received the authorisation to make you up to full time.
If HR services has no record of your increase to full time status then return to DOM with this information for it to be chased up.
Give DOM 48 hours to chase up enquire again as to the situation then follow up in writing.

I have a clean record. Phoned HR, seems the acting dom has processed it but it is being held up by the my old dom who was promoved to a bigger office, HR gave me his name as the person needing to authorize it.

thgins like this are stressful. your going on holiday so you want to be made up asap so you get paid for full time hours on holiday. make sure you note down how many hours you would be owed if this did not happen as you will want to get these hours back which your owed.

Thanks for the replies and it is very stressful and I believe I have been treated unfai rly and have financially lost out. I also believe I have cause for a grievance as less senior people have been made up to full time weeks ago. Am I entitled to back pay? Union ain't much help should I email moya?
