Yes - take it to the DOM, you will probably have to go, he should explain everything. Not sure its one to ask when you get Jury Service - https://www.gov.uk/jury-service/overview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the government website says "Loss of earnings" can be claimed but doesn't clarify exactly what that is

I once had to attend for jury service.
Before the jury were picked the charges were read out.
The least offensive of the eight charges was that the accused had urinated in a child's mouth. They got progressively worse.
TV monitors were being set up as children were going to be giving evidence.
I didn't get picked. Most of those who did were in tears.

I got called up for jury service a few years ago


The first case was a young bloke who had been found "interfering" with a horse. It dragged on, and was pretty boring, until his lawyer mentioned that he came from a "stable background"

Been twice myself and absolutely loved it. Much better than working for RM.

You will be paid basic wages by RM but when reimbursement comes come the courts it will make an allowance based on the few weeks you worked prior to jury service. So in theory if you have done regular overtime up until your jury service starts you should also get extra pay for this.

Simple to get out of - claim membership of a far-right party and you'll be refused.

Did it last year had 2 weeks off on full pay!if you don't get selected for a case you just go home!dont bother going into work though.you can claim loads petrol money parking child care dog sitting and you get a card with 7.50 a day for food and if you don't spend it you get it back at end.was 2 other pasties doing it as we'll and was interesting
