sick note

Been off since the middle of june now due to a car accident, well iv been back twice on 2 failed rehab plans, was due back last week but still not right so doc gave me another note, DOM not happy as i was due to start a FRP course, he told me i had to go back to docs and discuss the rehad plan, which i had already done on the monday, anyways i done what he asked and the doc said exactly the same, phoned DOM up after this and told him what doc said, couple of hours later he phones me up saying that he wanted a letter off the doc to prove i had been to see him and that we talked about the rehab plan, i phoned doc's they said they'd do the letter but was a charge of £25, I text dom to tell him this and got no reply untill following day saying i had to pay for the letter, which iv refused, can't see why i should be out of pocket, if they want it they can pay, told him iv a sick note which should be enough,


Has any one else had this, is it right that they should request a note to say iv been to the doc's even tho iv a sicknote, getting propa pissed off with it now,

would this possibly be under bullying and harrasment? might be worth giving the helpline a ring they may be able to direct you, sounds like your dom is a right piece of work

thought he was ok but seeing a different side of hime since iv been off, i never been off this long before, not the 1st time summit off has cropped up, about 8 weeks ago, he said he'd been speaking to an independant nurse who has access to my private phyiso records that only my insurance company have, not even my doc has seen these, he said that the " Nurse" said my pain levels had reduced enough for my return, The wife went mad coz she's a nurse and said there's no way this should happen. he even threatend to stop my wages last week because i didn't return to work on this new rehab plan, said i was being uncooperative.

I was going to ring HR or the helpline tomorrow see what's the score is,

That is awful myself ive been off since the beginning of june with knee issues and my dom has been fine no threats or anything im going back tomorrow and im on a 10 week rehab plan. hope this gets sorted for you asap ive never known a company like rm for how they treat sickness

Of course the longer you're off the more compensation you can claim.

got nothing todo with compensation, don't really give a s**t about the compen, i want to be able to pick my littlen up coz at the mo i cant with my shoulder achin , i want to get back to doing the stuff i like todo, which im unable to at the mo,

Is that even legal? personally I would go through the union legal team, stick it to him I say.

That is total and utter bollocks,not to put too fine a point on it. How can they access your records without permission,in writing from you? That's a breach of data protection laws and patient confidentiality. Serious issues both of those. That is so beyond outrageous I am almost lost for words. I have seen a similar tale on here and it was suggested that one course maybe legal redress for breach of your patient confidentiality.

He might be playing a bluffing game. I can't see how an independent nurse, not connected to you, would be given that kind of access.

I phoned the help line and they told me there was no such thing as an indepentnt nurse. just the occupational health how im going through any ways,

i'll be phoneing hr up tomorrow about his doctors letter requests,

Crass comment. Its also incomplete. The compensation may increase, however it will also increase Royal Mails claim against his award for the pay/benefits he has been drawing in the meantime.
