Stage 1,2 and 3 warnings

Does anybody know whether a DOM has the final decision on issuing these warnings ?

I know that these are generated automatically when your sickness level passes RM guidelines. But if there are exceptional circumstances, in this case cancer and all the treatment and operations that go along with it, surely the DOM is not obliged to issue a warning.

If a warning is issued do I just agree with it or can I challenge it or refuse to sign it.

I've spoken to OHS who have said that they do not get involved with RM policy.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer you are covered under the Equality Act from the point of diagnosis.
Any absences should be discounted from the attendance procedure.

See if your branch has a disability officer or contact CWU HQ.

the warnings are not generated automatically, the reviews are and then its the DOMs decision to implement the warning or not, you only have leave to appeal at the stage 3 point

there is no point refusing to sign it as the warning is issued regardless of whther you sign that you have recieved the paper work

for a stage 3 it goes to a dismissal trained manager which may not be your dom

ob theres a lot between skin cancer and bone cancer, but if postie is ill and off sick from it and postie got sick notes and doc notes. then sacking the poor sod on top of this , is in my mind realy poor form

You can't sack someone because they have cancer.
It would be like sacking someone because they are black or a Catholic.

Use the Grievance procedure and push it all the way. People will say its pointless to bother but they only do as they do because so many let them. Don't be another one of the so many brigade.

The DOM always has an influence on the decisions of their underlings line managers as for signing anything would you trust them.
