He smokes like a chimney. Ive often seen him lighting up when we've left the office to do deliveries and he's still smoking when we get back. Im guessing he must get through at least 20 benson & hedges a day poor blighter

That was started in my office 2 years ago, it lasted a week (smoke/toilet breaks, the porters fiasco, throwing 'x' amount of mail off in 'x' amount of time and so on). Looking back to how we were pre revision, I reckon people have got worse. Morale has been decimated and people do not give a damn.

this is when the unit needs to be strong and all agree too ensure you do your job properly, all the time saving short cuts we probably are all guilty of should end, make sure you do all the little things theyve asked us to do which wastes time.
You`ll probably end up bringing half a walk back between 2 at the very least (thats if you had been finishing before)

Those who want to skive will always find a way. A blanket ban, affecting the whole office will be counter productive and smacks of poor (if any) management skills except 'shout a bit louder.'

Why do you think in the last 12 months sickness has been on the increase at RM ? - It's a silent way to say 'F U'

People feel motivated by being trusted and empowered to do their work, many are good at their job and RM's last 12 months published results are 93.5 % first class delivery which BEATS Uso targets and 2nd class rate or 99% which BEATS uso targets.

So. RM staff are working hard and achieving targets set by the industry and business. In turn management bonus is safe, USO is safe, Shareholders are happy and everyone can swing arm in arm through the meadows.

It should be a case of 'Well f***ing done' coming from the top, not actions like we are seeing being reported by the OP.

This is NOT how you get the respect of staff in any manner.
