The whole idea of ring fencing a duty is that the person who requires the adjustments gets to do them on a delivery that is suitable FOR THEM,if you got kicked off just because a revision kicked in then the rep and the turds should have sat you down and tried in the first instance to keep you on the delivery you have been doing, and only then if not feasible for example if the planner has been a cock(common occurrence when trying to get rid of the lame and the sick with the DOM's and sometimes reps blessing :silenced )and put twelve million more drops on it and you can't complete it without suffering then they should find an alternative duty you can perform, not offer out feckin ill health retirement like confetti at a wedding..twats.
Why did you accept ill health retirement?

No General I did not accept it! I'm fighting all the way! (appealed and ET1 already in progress) Your words are all true but I wondered just how widespread is this kind of behavior from Royal Mail?

You only has to look in this forum the number of questions asked about how much you get for ill health retirement and on the CWU Facebook page.
Ill health retirement is fine IF you want it or can't stand the place any longer but it shouldn't always be the preferred option by Dom's and their ilk to cut the surplus postie population. Can these feckers not read the new attendance procedure? :cuppa

General, they can,t read any procedures let alone this one. Or shall I say they can read them but chose to ignore them unless it suits.

This is the agreed process that they should have used when doing the revision and guess the first test is if you are considered disabled within the equality act?

Hi toastie,

Glad I could help.

This document is one of the 157 plus steps/documents that the planners/dom should have worked through during the revision and so this document task 99 I think can be found of the delivery methods portal.

In my area I have won every case simply on the grounds that the planners/DOM should have made the adjustment within the revision design phase. The fact that you have been gainfully employed prior to the revision means that there failure to make the adjustment or continue with the adjustment would be illegal under the equality act. Although for Royal Mail an ET has ruled that Royal Mail is such a large and varied employer that it will always be able to make an adjustment within the workplace.

So would suggest that you get hold of the branch equality officer to help you and show the DOM/Planner what they should have done.
Also take your rep with you and document what is said and by who.

If you still don't have any joy that send me a private message so I can highlight you case with CWU HQ and RM
