It's in the Way Forward Agreement...but you can carry more than 5 days over(if agreed) with a note from your mummy....in other words if you want to carry more than 5 days over you get it in writing off your DOM that you want to carry over more. :cuppa
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09

No its true.
From The Way Forward Agreement
Carrying leave into another year

Annual leave should generally be taken in the year that it is due, and the business expects all employees to have at least four weeks away from work every year. However up to one week (or 5 odd days) may be carried over into the next leave year, and up to five days may be anticipated during the last month of the previous leave year. Transfer of leave in excess of these limits requires written permission from the line manager, except that leave that cannot be taken due to sick leave may be allowed in the following year. Where this is granted and would reduce the annual leave taken in a particular leave year to less than four weeks, the individual must also confirm in writing that they are willing to voluntarily forgo their statutory leave entitlement under the Working Time Regulations 1998.

In your case I would get a calculator out or visit Citizens Advice. Some lieu days caused by Bank Holidays may form part of your statutory entitlement and whatever the manager says they cannot refuse you them.

At a guess, as you work 3/5 of a week then you'd be entitled to roughly 4 or 5 days as part of your statutory entitlement. You'll need someone knowledgeable in employment law to confirm this though.

Lieu Days? Actual Exchange with a Manager:-

M: 'You've got ten days outstanding you'll have to take them before the end of the year or you'll lose them'
OPG: 'Fine, how many slots are there available until end of year?' (this is in August leave year ends next March)
M: 'There's only this slot in January you'll have to take this off or I'll place you on it anyway'
OPG: 'You mean the week I've already booked? How can I take same Leave twice?'

Manager walks off..........now up to fourteen days outstanding........

Mind you get impression that if I want Tuesday off until Hell freezes over will be welcomed with open arms........ EVEN MORE LAPSING!!!!!

DOM's Job to have enough resource to cover my Contractual Rights (accrued leave being one), anyone would think we don't have enough Leave Reserves?
