they are always grossly under estimated thats for sure, any one with the gift of sight can see mail volumes are NOT down

judging by the national trust mags that have not been touched for 2 days ,as there are piles of mags and cats playing catch up ,with no staff willing to work OT or stay out on delivery and managers pushing us more and more , as well as still lapsing when it is obvious that there is no time in our day to do it, still it is good to see the managers out delivering at 4 pm today,
it seems Sept has taken them by surprise again, still monday is another day with another CUT OFF

How sad is this our DOM on holiday this week and our stand in DOM looked like he had just left school Tuesday was well heavy double splits guess what it was all left behind as we had no time to deliver it turns out our DOM

Introduction to Delivered Traffic Forecasting Tool (DTFT)

The Delivered Traffic Forecast Tool (DTFT) supports the objectives of the Weekly Resourcing Meeting to produce an effective resourcing plan.

DTFT provides a 13 week traffic forecast, by day and traffic stream. To ensure that the forecast is as accurate and up to date as possible, every time the tool is opened it downloads the latest traffic data from the Business Warehouse database. The tool applies a cumulative traffic variance to the BW download from start of use therefore the continuous use of the tool will improve the accuracy of the Unit’s traffic forecasting. This is key as the tool’s outputs inform the decisions made at the weekly resourcing meetings.

Future week’s traffic forecasts from DTFT are input into the forecast version of the Indoor Workload Tool to establish the unit’s future indoor workload requirements. This information is then used in the Weekly Resource Meeting to produce an effective resource plan for the unit which will identify the need to flex indoor resource up or down as necessary.

The tool will also enable the Unit to plan for known traffic fluctuations over a longer time frame which will assist in determining seasonal resource levels.

How DTFT Works
When connected to the network opening the tool will automatically download the data for the selected unit and update the latest thirteen week traffic forecast. The traffic forecast is based upon: Last years actual traffic corrected for all known events i.e. bank holiday movements, marginality, industrial action impact etc. This baseline forecast is held in business warehouse. The adjusted cumulative traffic variance by stream by unit is split over the weekdays using a four week rolling average by stream by day.
