WTL Video Today!
Did anyone else have to watch the RMTV video today in WTL? It had an article about SAYE, some other cr@p which I can't remember (went into daydream mode), and the last item was the most farcical I have ever seen. It was basically a bunch of health freaks telling us that we need to eat more healthy, make sure to get 5 a day etc.
Well up yours RM, I for one am bringing in a nice big CAKE to share with my fellow co-workers.

Our manager said it wasn't worth watching and didn't bother putting it on.

Actually you really should, it's potentially very lucrative. Why do you think otherwise?Spedley wrote:Only an idiot would not take up the maximum SAYE you can afford.

I've never, ever watched a RMTV video and haven't had a WTL session for several years.

Thinking about SAYE ,it depends on your situation , ie the money you put into the scheme could be used to pay off your mortgage earlier.Robtor wrote:Actually you really should, it's potentially very lucrative. It is a bit disheartening to hear that a lot of the major financial institutions have been selling Royal Mail shares according to an article in the Independent today.
Still undecided ???

But you cant lose money, you dont have to buy the shares after the 3 years , you can have your money paid in back if you want.derricksmyth wrote:Thinking about SAYE ,it depends on your situation , ie the money you put into the scheme could be used to pay off your mortgage earlier.Robtor wrote:Actually you really should, it's potentially very lucrative. I have doubled my pension contributions instead. Tax efficient, and much more predictable.derricksmyth wrote:Thinking about SAYE ,it depends on your situation , ie the money you put into the scheme could be used to pay off your mortgage earlier.Robtor wrote:Actually you really should, it's potentially very lucrative. this is a good no lose deal,Spedley wrote:Only an idiot would not take up the maximum SAYE you can afford.
i've already pugged £5 p/w into it, wish i could commit to more
guaranteed £720 of my own savings, could return a profit or share price may plummet and nearly break even with the interest rates as they are.
don't forget (big) if the share price is steady in 3 years and above £3.60 you can buy and keep and collect the dividends

Re: WTL Video Today!
I know what your saying Korky , but if interest rates start rising over the next 3 years then your money isn't working for you.korky wrote:this is a good no lose deal,Spedley wrote:Only an idiot would not take up the maximum SAYE you can afford.
