blowing whistle on dom's racism - y/n?

My Dom has a Facebook. I'm not his friend but everything is visible.

He's made a very racist comment tonight. It's incredibly offensive.

Would you blow the whistle?

Yes, frontline staff have been disciplined over social media and managers should be responsible.

That's my feeling too. He's had a prior suspension for something similar but got away with it...

Take a screen grab and report them to one of the leaders/spokespersons of the community which has been abused in addition to Royal Mail.

yes, racism should be reported.
a colleague of mine was given a warning for calling managers a name that wasn't even a swear word.
Grass him up I would !!!

it's not acceptable in any form, though i tend to find abusive social media posts are usually the result of alcohol,
you could get a person the sack which could affect other people too,
think long & hard before if you do report.

It depends whether or not the person,in saying what he said,was acting in some capacity for the Royal Mail. If not then it should be reported to Facebook, it has nothing to do with his employer. Bringing the company into disrepute is very difficult to prove. Having said that, I have read of people being sacked for posting derogatory comments about their employer/employers business on forums/social media. I was advised once never put anything in writing that could be seen by a lawyer or a judge,so it is a case of "Poster beware" .

Depends if the comment was about someone, or just generalised. If he's using Faceache to "bully" someone, then fine, report it, but if it's just a throwaway comment you're looking to find offence with, then don't.
{Unless you rather like the unpleasant aspects of being a grass for the sake of being a grass, getting one over on your DOM, and possibly losing someone their job, of course..}

If you haven't got the courage to do it yourself, there would certainly be others happy to report it on your behalf.

Not on here or on the public twitter page, if the person is identifiable then the poster themselves could be disciplined. My advice is contact the HELP line, or or your CWU Branch for guidance.

Sadly it's all too easy to see how the Stasi, Gestapo and KGB etc were able to flourish; one of the nastier sides of human nature of some people, the willingness to grass up others for their own sad enjoyment.

No Specific to "a certain race". Whats nastier, grassing a racist, or ignoring it because you are not the subject of the abuse. I KNOW which side I would prefer to be on even if its on the Gestapo and KGB side of your "Reductio ad absurdum" argument.

Its a form of bullying against people for no other reason than a difference of race
