Van without side Door

Hi Guys, quick question.

We have been allocated the worst van ever and it happens to have no side door along with it chugging to start smelling of fumes and it being on 78,000 miles - basically it's a right shed.

In saying all the above the main issues are the climbing into the van to get things due to lack of side door and the fumes all which has been mentioned but nothing done.

Can we take this any further? it's a real pain and it really does need scrapping to be honest!

If you are on a van share you would have a decent case for having the van swapped with a singleton van duty for a van with a side door since on van share one of you are supposed to work from the back and the other from the side so you don't get in each other's way.

If you are getting fumes in the cab area, log it off.

Cheers lads, I'll have another word but no doubt it will get brushed aside again I just thought maybe Vans without side doors were no longer allowed or something.

PMT it,fill in logbook accordingly, fill in weekly vehicle check sheet accordingly, you'll probably find that as long as it's got a wheel at each corner and it starts up your manager can't be arsed to phone the van garage to arrange repair but rm do have fleet managers who do audits on do's, they check through log books and actually take their job seriously.

Van should then get sent to workshop for attention.

definitely PMT the thing and list every thing wrong with it as mechanics then know what to look for

I had a van for years without a side door,now I have a van with a side door I still don't use it,apart from one firm i deliver to from the side door!
I do my own rural though not a van share.
