three weeks on one week off

At our office we have a mixture of four day weeks, nine day fortnights and five day weeks all with different start and finish time.
But according to our Dom we will be going through a revision within the next year and getting rid of the four day weeks and nine day fortnights as apparently they cost to much.
The Dom plan is for everyone to work three weeks on of 52 hours and have the next week off.
According to him it works in other offices and cuts down on the amount of sick.
Does anyone else do these hours and if so is it any good.
When I first heard about this I was against it but the more I think about it is starting to sound good.

its killing me doing 39 hours i think i'd have to slow down a bit and pace myself to survive the week which will probably take me down the N C I process

They will probably extend all the rounds to accommodate a longer working day. Then a few months down the line say it's not working, put everyone back to 39 hours a week but leave the rounds the same size!

that is EXACTLY what they are doing in our office. only we've been doing 3 on, 1 off, and 9 day fortnights for almost 4yrs now since the revisions came in. they say they cant resource it, and theres not enough work on Mondays Tuesdays and Saturdays. so, we are being put back on 39 hrs a week, but the deliveries are staying at 4hrs 45mins. its the only decent thing to come out of the pile of shite deal of 2010. we've been pissed and shat on AGAIN.

rep reckons they are doing away with the 3 over 4, and 9 day fortnights nationwide. branch says 'well if the workload is not there to justify these shift patterns then there's nothing can be done'.
