I started using this pen a good few months ago and it's the business, even a completely soaked 739 it can write on no problem. Works at any angle.
It doesn't sound a big deal but in the pissing rain being able to write out the 739 before it turns to mush makes the job a little easier. Something that should be standard issue from RM you would think?

Is it free/under 1p per item? No
There's your answer. Agreed, it probably would save you all a lot of time/hassle in the long run (including callers office and customers). However, price will always be a factor now since privatisation.
why are pens in short supply in royal mail when we need them to do our job properly if they want forms filled in correctly they should supply the tools to do the job and not ask us to buy our own.
When we've actually been given any Royal Mail pens they've been scratchy and thin nibbed and they won't write in the rain. I use gel pens, which I think Uniball is, as they write on any surface at any angle and especially good in the rain!
