is it me or the new run of rm managers failed pmn(dont want to do delivery)or is it the only way that they can get full time hours.they have tried the bullying approach with me but i will tackle it myself and fight my own corner,if not i go to the union rep,i have a line manager who tries the divide and conqure approach makes the right noises to the person he is talking to at the time.sorry to be negative but this is life at rm as we know it

It must be the most bitter of ironies that you become a manager to avoid deliveries and that is all you end up doing, due to shortage of staff, sickness, etc. they seem to,have given up , even the bullying seems halfhearted.

Delivery office managers seem to be a law unto themsleves. I've had a few over the years. Most are ex postman with no people management skills but they are good at intimidating and bullying and manipulating. Another must have skill seems to be lying about paying overtime so they can hit their budget targets and get a nice bonus.

a few guys left our place and went to management school.

bearing in mind they were the hardest lined when it came to cutting off etc.

one comes back in our DO as a DIM and bullies those who try exactly what he did.

They prefer to stay indoors, check their emails, document whatever their documenting. All for an extra £70 a week. But a new breed had emerged...


One of our new managers (he's only been at the post office 3 years) became a gaffer because it was FT work. I believe he is currently doing his level best to save hours. Lapsing more deliveries, moving staff around the office to save indoor time etc etc. I suppose its a thankless task really for what its worth. But then its worth it when we've all left the office.

Just bear in mind I don't comment on issues I know nothing about unlike so many others who seem to make a point of it.

Most of the `managers` at ours are all bits of kids with hardly any service in, who as postmen where some of the worst performing slapdash run around not do the job properly artist going on part time hours.
They think that they are bettering themselves by licking the DOM's and Area Managers ass and are nothing more than scared little suck up's who won't disagree with anything that these two turds say, even if it means shitting on their former work mates ....I have ZERO respect and even less time to waste on any of them,I don't even speak to them unless I really have to.
