Poll Cards

Got the poll cards for the Independence Vote in our office today.

We've been told by our DOM that if we want to get paid for them we have to do them all in one day.
If we dont do them all in one day we have today, tomorrow and Monday to do them but wont get paid for them?

The DOM claims its a new national agreement on poll cards.

Since when has this been the case?

We were never told this..we were told to count them over an average of 3 per house, take a third today, Monday and Tuesday...

Not to deliver them tomorrow at all?.. :Very Happy

A few of us in our office told the DOM that we didn't want to do the poll cards. The DOM then said that we no longer had the option too choose whether we deliver them or not and it was now mandatory that we deliver the poll cards and the union had agreed to this?
Can anyone confirm if the union has agreed to this or not?

Yes - you have NEVER been able to refuse to deliver the Poll Cards as far as I know. You can only refuse election leaflets and only with good reason such as moral beliefs or safety.

Thanks for the reply TBT.
In the 10+ years I have worked for RM any time poll cards were due into the office the DOM went around the staff and asked whether or not we wanted to deliver them. For that reason I always thought they were optional.

We were asked if we wanted to do them.
If we say no, I think they offer them to anyone who wants to volunteer to deliver them in their own time.
