Transfer from Mail Centre to Delivery Office?

Friend of mine lives in Reading ( RG ) but works at Swindon Mail Centre ( SN ). He wants transfer to Delivery Office in Reading (RG) , Whats the procedure please ??

Tell her/him to go to local delivery office and speak to the DOM and find out what the options are and him/her can pick the office which whatever system him/her want ie day off or floating week off.

Yes speak to Dom and see if any spaces available

Its not all doom and gloom but the workload is increasing

And management don't seem to want to pay if you go over

I hope its not the same all over but its getting harsh at ours.

Lives in Reading (Rg) and works at Swindon... its every day long driving 50 odd miles .... at least it would be a local if get a job in delivey office.

I have worked in a mail centre in the past and would do anything to be able to go back to one, even if it meant driving 100 miles a day to get there! Unless he already works in delivery (some mail centres have delivery offices in them) I would strongly advise against it!

Some of the guys I used to work with in MC got transfers to their local DOs (also making VRs available there by 'bumping'). They saved a lot of time and money in travelling, and reckoned it was a good move.

Edit: They were in their 30s and 40s though, deliveries is going to be harder if you are over 50.

How long have you worked in the mail centre ? And if you been in the job at the mail centre for some time you will not like it big time it not easy as some think the job is s**t now big time

yes, but its more difficult because of the recent, ongoing, and no doubt soon to be introduced MC closure program.
