Offically it probably starts on the 1st December but in practice (unoffically) it'll probably start early to mid November

Which why our DOM has put a ban on any leave being booked from mid Nov onward.

our office has from the 1/12/14/ to w/c 22/12/13 one clown last year a deputy dom tried to tell me it started before then but as far as i know there is no national agreement if in doubt go to your union rep.but as we all know for people ordering stuff starst november by the time xmas pressure starts officially it is all over bar the shouting.

We been told last week in nov. As I have the week previous off and need the Monday off as will still be travelling home. Wasn't given it in the leave allocation as told no it's xmas pressure. So I have had to swap my day of as I will be half way up the country and nowhere near work.

He has no authority to unilaterally ban leave at any point. The local Christmas arrangements in your office are subject to local agreement and should be in line with the national guidelines. If he doesn't want leave booked from mid November he asks...and you negotiate a mutually benificial solution for the whole office.

Well it will for MCs but delivery offices will be a week later - why that should be probably stems from the days of guaranteed hours, which now usually only affects PTers who are given FT hours for the duration.
