You can only realistically claim if the owner of that floor was negligent in leaving it in an inappropriately slippery condition.

Did you report it ( ERICA ) if not you don't have a leg to stand on as you need a manager to investigate why you slipped were you using RM foot ware? They should use the foot ware with the same conditions to see if the address is a hazard while in said foot ware and conditions! But I bet they don't

I am now starting to get rather annoyed at this sort of management speak from people obviously not trained in health and safety legislation and responsibility.

The employee Accident recording process has nothing to do with it.

You make a claim if you can prove the other party was negligent in some way, it has absolutely nothing to do with Royal Mail as it will be a civil action.

Royal Mail footware again is rubbish unless you are on a duty such as a dock leveler where toe tector will be needed. As far as i am aware Royal Mail issues footware is not PPE, but uniform code

i do wish people will stop passing off management speak as fact when it is no more than BS to try and limit statutory Duty

The employee accident recording process is in place not only as a source of reference, it puts into place recommendations to limit the accident happening again (control measures) RCA

It also allows the employer to do individual risk assessments on the employee post accident as to their fitness to work (Reasonable adjustments)

It is also used as to notifiable incidents (RIDDOR Regulations)

You are NOT putting in a claim against Royal Mail, but the third party to Quantify any loss sustained through negligence from that third party
