Provided that the duty structures are adjusted to take into account the additional time that is spent by a delivery OPG on DTN I do not have a major objection to it. I could make the business more competitive and be convenient for many receipt customers.

I do however have an issue with the matter of 'choice' and I am not sure that blindly assuming that all neighbours are happy to take in parcels on behalf of others is a fair or proper approach approach. Likewise with despatch customers, anyone who has sold items via eBay will know that not everyone is as honest as their feedback may suggest and DTN just increases the risk of theft or fraud.

Like many RM initiatives things just haven't been thought through well enough, the customer (both despatch and receipt) hasn't really been consulted or given any choice whatsoever, and again we have a change in working practise which adds workload with no real planning for how that workload will be covered.
