Wallingford week query

Our office is all on the wallingford week scheme, could you clarify if we are on a 39 hour week or more hours?

We've been told we have to work more hours as were doing wallingford week plus we have to give back a weeks leave per year.

Yes you need to work more hours to "pay" for your week off. You get the same entitlement for a/l but to book a week off will cost six days, so you will end up with less weeks of a/l but still the same amount of days.

You will need to work around 47 hours a week to pay for the week off.

So...it seems someone whos working only 40 hours appears to get this Wallington thingy?
That cant be right, can it??
20hrs is RM work, and - in theory -15hrs is Romec work, plus they "work" an hours O/T every day ( This is disputed ) making 40hrs.
Just wondering how it seems that its OK to do this?

No anyone on any hours can do a Wallington (1 in 6) rotation.

The only stipulation is that you work 5 weeks and get 1 week off - as opposed to 5 days and 1 day off. In a wallington week the extra day you work unpaid rolls over to your 6th week.

I have no idea I don't know any one who does Royal Mail and ROMEC work apart from perhaps Engineers sit may be a local arrangement.

Being picked up to get to work, and regularly taken home..in RM vans...wish I had a RM Chauffeur too!!
