idiots in our office starting 30 mins 45 mins and an hour + before there start times,we were lapsing 1 duty ,from next week lapsing 3 dutys on a Tuesday the other days 2 dutys,guess what most of them are moaning now, , I really give in

Yes same in our office we have to do lapsing when we have time which is fair enough, but when there is not enough time & we refuse there are problems, postmen/women who come in early in their own time to get ahead on prep & to throw in the leaflets in their own time are doing the rest of us no favours as managers tend to think we are being lazy , why don't the union stop folk coming in early without pay as it's causing problems

same. we have people in our office who are sad enough to come in 30 mins early, then when its break time they will prep tmozs d2d while partnet goes for break. last week once postie came in 3 hours before their time so worked a full day 8 hours and wasn't allowed to book in for it as manager told her we don't want anyone early. cant believe how stupid ppl are

We have a p/t that comes in at 6 every day apart from Monday when they come in at 5.45 there start time is 0730 on Monday and 0800 the rest of the week.A f/t is waiting for the office to open every morning at 0425 and he shouldn't start till 0615

seems we are getting punished for it now though. lapsing 3 dutys a day, crazy workloads, all leave cancelled (apart from summer leave weeks), management busting you for the slightest things. seriously, we went on strike for much, much less than the hassle/conditions we are working under now.

to be honest. if they took a 'stand' (i.e do the job properly in the face of severe provocation/hassle) there is no way they, or our office would go back to starting early/working breaks. It's about all we have left.

It's not the coming in early that's the problem, it's the idiots that finish early and walk back into the office 3 hours before their finish time that cause the headaches. Management see them and assume everyone is finishing at that time too!

If someone wants to come in early and plod about rather than run around like a headless chicken it causes no harm whatsoever as long as they finish at finishing time!

Yup their choice if they want a less stressful day, no harm done. But if someone continually finishes early for whatever reason, being a runner for example. Then they give managers ideas and make it look bad for anyone who goes on their walk as cover, which is harmful!
