Whats the minimum insurance needed? can I use business use?

You can't. Assuming your delivery office has been through a methods revision, then the use of private cars on delivery is illegal.

Thought it had been outlawed under 2010 agreement . The minute you put mail in your vehicle you may be classed as a courier which in its self is a separate class of insurance.

business use doesnt cover you if you have mail in the vehicle, rms bond is what would cover you, also are you actually sure you have not had a revision? have you not had any of the lump sums from the 2010 agreement?

Private cars being used was abolished a few years ago in one of the agreements, some managers still turn a blind eye to it but if the IB pull you up just make note that it's a stackable offence.

sounds like you must work in a part of royal mail that has avoided the swinging cuts.

I hope they are making it financially worth your while to use your vehicle, otherwise, it's madness.

it could be that if something did happen and the mail was damaged or stolen then not only you but your manager could be sacked IF your manager is allowing people to do this and he doesnt have the permission, as everyone seems to agree that this process has been stopped under the new agreement.

You will be sacked not your manager, do you think your manager will admit to knowing? He will deny all knowledge, they turn a blind eye cos getting the job done keeps the bosses off their backs, the moment something goes wrong they will pass the buck to you.

Its a official process the manager makes you sign a insurance declaration when using your own car on delivery but I agree with you why would anyone use there own cars if there working to there time? finish early and pouch off?
