Have you been recently transferred because of a closure or revision - if so it could be that payment for the travel.

That's what I get. I went from one mail centre to another (the first was shedding jobs) and so get a set sum each week.

But even if it's a single lump sum, you should've had a meeting with someone from management about it beforehand.
