Hi after a conversation with my manager I have been informed that the bottom 10 FTC (yes I'm one of them) are to be moved to another office for 4-8 weeks effective Monday (4 days notice) or He will end our contracts because of the work is down and they need to absorb our duties
My question is if my FTC doesn't expirer until November can He do this?

Yes - even my contract from years ago mentions working in other offices but you need to check with the Union guys as I think they should be paying a travel allowance, or be getting you to the new office.vanman90 wrote:yh but can He move me to a different office before November?
Also I am not 100% certain, but they can give even permanent employees notice of termination and its usually 1 week for each year up to 10 IIRC, I think this may also apply to FTCs. https://www.gov.uk/fixed-term-contracts ... m-contract" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

they can ive notice to end the contract with 1 weeks notice but that would be a compulsory redundancy and rm at the moment is committed to not making any compulsory redundancies

FTC with less than 2 years service wont get redundancy, but yes they can ask you to work in another office but you should get travel provided from your parent office or the difference in travel paid as T&S

I don't mean they will get paid redundancy just that it would be classed as a compulsory redundancy which rm are committed to not doing at the moment

Yes they can send you to another office..But, I may be wrong here... You are still contracted to your current office, that means you turn up there and get transported to the other office. Your start and finish and break times run as they would at your current office until you are no longer contracted there. you need to check with Area union Rep.
