There are no signs of declining mail at my office, it's the busiest summer we've had in about 3 years and on top of all that
they want lapsing of walks and delivery to a neighbour? and the possibility that some collections are to be done by delivery staff!.
Absolutely no chance of this happening now :)

I'm in Yorkshire too, and I can concur with the above. My day off today thanks goodness, but yesterday was madness. Where are these dropping off of mail/parcels figures being generated?
We've also got severe shortages of staff across several spdo's In our area due to retirement, no holiday relief staff, long-term sick etc. and apparently word from on high is they won't fill these vacancies until the amount of overtime being claimed is reduced - and yet all these empty duties need covering on - you guessed it: overtime!

Doms have been told that they can't fill vacancies until September at the earliest.
mail wise, it's a lot heavier than last summer and packets are through the roof, 24 walks in our DO, 3 yorkes of Mech, 7 full yorkes of flats. 9 yorkes of small packets, 2 yorkes of Tracked, 2 yorkes of oversized and thats without Amazon, so you can probably add 20% to that total when we get the contract back in a couple of months ( and scanning every delivery at the doorstap as delivered )
