Transfers

Looking to move upto the Midlands at the start of next year and would like a transfer ideally, notsure if this happens these days but thought it was worth a shot.
What is the transfer procedure these days ? I spoke to my DOM, who said to look on myroyalmail.com and that was about it.

Hoping to be based around Nottingham, I understand that alot of the sorting offices have been merged recently though.

Any locals on here know of any vacancies ?

I just got out of the Midlands and transferred down to the south coast. Why the hell would you want to move to the Midlands!? Anyway, I'll post a link to the internal transfers webpage, keep an eye on it daily for new posts.

Soaring house prices down South means we can't afford much, get a lot more house for your money and got a lot of friends in the area.

Just trying to figure out where the offices are located, if there's any locals on here ?

I'm wanting to transfer too down to Devon. Spoke to my manager today he didn't know anything about any transfer policy and said phone HR. They didn't know apart from just look on the jobs site or call up the offices that you are interestedin .
Surely we are supposed to be a family friendly company. Should make it easier for staff to move offices especially if offices have vacancies.

The transfer 'process' has been acknowledged as worse than useless for quite some time, even so much as positions being advertised externally to the general public without even appearing as a job alert on the internal RM system.

RM and the CWU are supposed to be working together to improve things and develop a transfer system that actually works, lord knows how long it will take them to come up with something though.

Ok so I had an email job update this morning that kinda fits the bill, do I seriously have to apply like every other member of the public even though I'm already a Royal Mail employee.

Going to dig out Human Resources number and see what they have to say.
