Not allowed new shoes

Had some cat boots about 10 weeks ago and have never felt very comfy had 3 weeks holiday came back and they seem to have got worse cutting my ankles up so bad i can hardly walk when i asked dom could i have some trainers he said no as you have to wait 6 months! thing is i can hardly walk in these and now i have started wearing own trainers which i am told i cant wear! so what should i do as in tomorrow with no chance of wearing boots can i refuse to go on delivery as i simply cant walk in them has anyone else had similar problem?

I would get an appointment with your GP and explain the situation to them,and they should give you a letter that will allow you to wear your own footwear,and also allow you to claim money to buy suitable footwear.

Or explain to Dom that you will have to go off sick as your feet will be damaged

I saw my gp and now wear hiking boots/trainers....what a difference.

Thanks for advice will see tomorrow if i can find diff foot wear if not will say i want to see h+s and then my gp

Your Manager will either provide you with an alternative type of footwear from the Approved Uniform Catalogue, or you will just use whichever footwear you deem suitable for your present condition.

The footwear supplied by Royal Mail for delivery is uniform only, it is not PPE. Failure to wear the supplied uniform can be considered a breach of Uniform Policy. I would suggest that you document your condition and your Managers failure to provide an suitable alternative as your case against any futile attempt to conduct you for Uniform Policy breach. I would do this through the Grievance Procedure, but you can simply use the Union H&S or IR Reps if you prefer, (all it should take is a couple of photos and a few lines of text).

Try Amazon warehouse deals,depending on size /availability you can get some crackers but be aware you might need to return em if they're not right for your feet.

I got several pairs for next to nothing../and RM will give you £30 towards a pair..
If your doms being a fudge... Ask for his decision in writing

Hopefully I'd you explain that you are trying to avoid going long term sick with your feet they should see sense.

There is a place at the end of the form for you to explain why you need them.
If you don't provide an explanation the uniform manager probably won't authorise them.
I've never known them to be a problem with shoes.
