We've known about how hot it's gonna be for a few days now so why don't the managers get us to come in earlier so we can finish before it gets craaaazy hot.Instead I went in this morning my walk hadn't been touched(supposed to throw out a bit cus I'm a part timer) had to watch a dog video,had to lapse also.All managers say is drink plenty of water and keep in the shade(yeah cus I carry a bloody umbrella with my extra pair of hands).and to top it off my partner has a heart condition.thought he was gonna keel over at the end of the walk.
Doctor Hilary on tv this morning told people not to go out between 11-3,pahahah!

And how hot is it in the vans on a park and loop, where the only place to park tends to be in the sun, you open the door and you would think you were entering an oven

I wore a cap today and any time i senn an outside tap i could get to i soaked the inside of the hat and put it on my head,total heaven. It makes a huge difference to your core temperature,a great tip from my p&l partner.

Would this work if I wet my trousers too? Would it bring down the core temperature of my sweaty ass crack lol

Unfortunately they really dont give a sh*t about our health or safety anymore There should be some sort of law against working in these conditions

Even hotter tomorrow peeps. . Asked DOM if we could come in earlier tomorrow, told , not a chance you will be ok, get on with it, and by the way you are blocking my fan. Next week the RMTV will be sprouting about working in the heat and what the precautions you must take. Health and safety ,don't make laugh.

So you had time to prep your walk,watch a video AND lapse in your 5 or 6 hours duty time? Must be a rare easy park & loop delivery!

stop bloody whinging you wimps !! try doing a tour of Afgan or Iraq then you'll know what it is to work in the heat. and at least your not getting shot at whilst delivering.

My square-bashing experience involved lots of sitting around waiting for something to happen, eating decent food at Her Majesty's expense. We don't even have a canteen in my DO and the Yomping is full-on for eight hours a day, every day.
