Probably 50%
They are extending the distance a person is expected to travel to a post box from 1.5 miles, to 3 miles.

Do any of the older boxes have any sort of protection, as in listed buildings?

Dunno but I ve heard that they keep blowing them up with fireworks down Frinton way
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Not forgetting the LLoyd's building in London, built in 1986 and grade 1 listed in 2011 :Very Happy

If Royal Mail do start removing post boxes then I can imagine them receiving some unwanted bad publicity. The local press will be full of photos of little old ladies standing glumly next to a condemned post box with letter in hand.

The ruins of the old one are also Grade 1 listed. Probably listing a bit in places too.
