CCTV/Security systems in callers offic etc

Whats the general consensus on CCTV in Callers Offices/Reception areas and or front entrances?
We "apparently" had a proposal/budget for some CCTV and/or a Safety Screens, but...nothings been done for quite a long while.

Are there any Callers offices with similar, same or alternative Security systems????

After quite a few confrontations/threats by Callers, I feel that our LONE WORKING is going to end in tears one day very soon.

For example....Our female PHG 2 is under 5ft tall, and although very professional, would struggle if she were to be physically attacked/assaulted.

I'd be grateful for any information or details of what other sorting centres currently have, or going to have.

we have one of the new caller office counters and screens and its an incident waiting to happen, we took it to the top of the cwu but the sizes (height etc) had been agreed.

Its a small double centre opening window, not a screen as such. Im on about a superfast emergency screen for the callers office AND CCTV for the main entrance/exit. This is usually where the hassle happens.

Seems that lone working being totally alone for approx 45 min plus, is when the callers is at its busiest.

UPDATE: Asked the Boss today, told, "No Money." Even though there were some propsed improvements few years back.

Funny how there's thousands spent on all the "BE SAFE" posters, and swapping Summer-to-winter-then-back-to-summer-tyres. (Then back to winter in November?) And...In the reception/callers area, there's a great World Class Mail flowchart, that states, "SAFETY" as one of RM's main priority. Seems like it's Lip-Service and Marketing...not real ACTION.

Our Callers Office got security screen and camera . Callers Office is maned by one person but Wednesday (6 pm - 8 pm ) when office is empty then there are two staff in Callers Office.
