EVRs are usually only offered when a revision is in the pipeline. SO if the impact is great in your area and the managers want to change duties thats when it most likely will be on the table.

But is not guaranteed and by the time it happens the MTSF rules may have changed.

MTSF is the agreement that covers EVR.

I don't know everything - I just research stuff before I comment. A skill sadly lacking within the management structure of Royal Mail as evidenced by comments from both sides of the debate on here.

As to the question, possibly, in fact it looks probable as it was written into the agreement
7.1 The Employer shall be entitled to notify the CWU at any time that any of the Protections will no longer continue, if any of the following exceptional circumstances apply:

a) if Royal Mail ceases to be the designated Universal Service provider;

b) in circumstances where, the Employer believes on reasonable grounds that continuing the Protection concerned would, or would be likely to, place the company in breach of, or result in the Employer being unable to comply with, any legal or regulatory requirement;

c) in the event that the Employer believes on reasonable grounds that any part of the business to which a Protection applies has ceased to be, or is likely to cease being, financially sustainable;

d) in the event that the Employer believes on reasonable grounds that a significant event or series of events has occurred, or is likely to occur that has a material adverse effect, or is reasonably likely to have a materially adverse effect on: (i) the Employer’s business or prospects or (ii) the legal or regulatory basis on which the Employer operates (including but not limited to the Employer's position as the sole Universal Service Provider); or

e) if there is national-scale industrial action (in the form of a strike or action short of a strike) which has been authorised at national level by the CWU, namely industrial action which either (i) involves employees in the majority of operational workplaces across Royal Mail Group Limited; or (ii) involves employees in an integral part of the operation whereby taking action will have, or is reasonably likely to have, a similarly disruptive effect.
and even if they don't invoke section 7 there is also the possibility of the hole agreement being reviewed under section 5.
5 Review Criteria

During any scheduled review period referred to in paragraph 4, the parties shall in good faith consider the ongoing Protections having regard to the following:

the overall financial situation of the company;

legal and regulatory requirements;

postal industry and general market conditions;

current and projected business performance;

the conduct of industrial and employee relations.

I think RM has made it fairly clear that it is going to change the EVR terms for all staff. They are certainly making it clear to managers who didn't get jobs in the latest reorganisation that if they don't accept the VR offer (by today) that the next "offer" will be on worse terms. They have tried this before the encourage people to "volunteer" but the general feeling is that this time they mean it.

Every time there has been EVR/VR offers there were stories that the next offer would be worse. It does seem to have been the case with non-operational managers last time. Whether, or how soon, it will be the case with uniformed grades is anyone's guess.

Apparently nothing will be changed MTSF-wise until the current round of MC reviews/closures is completed, so that probably means until IP and PO are finally shut, ie about 15-18 months time.
It goes without saying that the terms will get worse over time; RM's EVR terms are much more generous that the legal minimum, and the shareholders won't wear that for long...

That's not correct huckster. Anyone under 55 would get a VR payment of 26-104 weeks depending on age and length of service.
If you are over 55 you would get immediate payment of accrued pension, slightly enhanced, plus 26 weeks VR payment.
If you are not paying into a RM pension, ie you opted out or have already taken your pension, you would get 26-104 weeks VR payment depending on your age and length of service.
