Atos

Post by johnyo »

Hello, I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this.
I am covered under disability at work, and have asked my line manager for 3 weeks for an ATOS call & if possible a referral,
Last Thursday the pain in my knees & ankles got so bad I had to go sick, I have got an NHS Appointment at BIO- mechanical for 1/09/14.
My line manager called me today & informed me of Royal Mail policy change and ATOS don't do calls or referrals, is this correct, I thought occupational health was meant to help ?
He waffled something that ATOS won't get involved unless I have an NHS appointment which I have 1/09/14.
Any help would be appreciated

Your line manager maybe trying to be smart by stating that ATOS don't do calls or referrals that's because RM occupational health provider is no longer called ATOS but has had a name change to OH Assist.
His further statement that ATOS won't get involved unless I have an NHS appointment is also incorrect.
Your line manager cannot refuse your request for a referral to occupational health and personally I would write to his immediate manager and explain your situation or submit a 2nd stage grievance which the Employee Relations Team at Sheffield are copied in.
His actions and statements need to be seriously looked into.
Have you notified your union rep.

Many thanks rehabron !
I have just emailed my depot ops manager explaining the situation, hopefully something will resolve, my branch has reservations about me asking for ATOS or OH. As he doesn't trust them ;) my union rep has recently retired & the new one
Is as green as grass & seems more concerned about getting his family employed & doing F.... All
I also emailed Linda Roy who has kindly forwarded my email on , so waiting on an answer for that also.
It does seem ridiculous that A line manager can't get OH to call an employee who is disabled and in pain ???
Rehabron can u or anyone get the email address for employee relations team as I think your right my manager is being smart
For some strange reason.

If you have a lack of confidence in your local rep take your matter to area/divisional rep.
