as we all know the doms have recently received a nice bonus up to £3000 end of june,i know there are many decent HONEST doms out there.But there are many for the want of a better word ROGUES out there.suddenly over the last 6 weeks to the present time,delivery staff have been shafted/ripped off big time,some have worked there day off,NOT BEEN PAID some are 10 hours short on wages,some are 8 hour short on wages the list goes on,all these hours have been cut/fiddled so the figures look good and hey presto the dom receives a NICE BIG FAT BONUS.this must be going on in most offices around the UK.its just not good enough it happens far to regular.

Our dom has shafted many people over there overtime. Im still owed 14 hours from a month ago! I know one fella who is owed 41 hours
How can the union let this happen, ive asked the rep to sort my owed overtime out but guess what he says he has asked and can do nothing more.

On a side note if I took a grievance out about getting my overtime back would that put my contract renewal in jeopardy as im an ftc

The DOM in our office has also tried to defraud folks of their annual leave for which they are owed. Instead of crediting bank holidays and crediting carried over leave, the DOM has in fact attempted to wipe it off , solely for the purpose of financial gain I should imagine

I would make certain that he has failed to credit bank holidays or wiped them off because if they have they may be in a world of hurt if anyone pushed it. Bank Holidays, and Bank Holidays Credit are, I believe, a Statutory entitlement and they cannot just wipe if off, its illegal.

Well when your still in possession of previous annual leave cards (as evidence) I do think it's rather foolish to try and hoodwink someone from something for which they are entitled. As far as the bank holidays are concerned we have to inform the DOM to add them on or they are written off

If some workers are doing overtime and not getting paid for it then why are they still doing the overtime??? Just grow a pair of b@llocks and tell them you won't be working over your time anymore and you are not able to work your day off. Watch and laugh when DOM struggles to get the office cleared. If they try to bully you into doing it you tell them you'll put in a grievance against them.

Many private sector workers (including myself in the past) retail/carers etc work bank holidays for flat rate though?

Maybe my office is different but I ve not noticed any change in the way OT has been paid. My DOM looks about as feed up as normal.

Id love to be in a position where I can turn down overtime, unfortunately having a 24 hour contract doesn't allow this so it would make no difference how big my b@llocks where!!

That's fine, but the Bank Holiday is a statutory right, and if its your day off on the actual Bank Holiday then there is a statutory right to use it later (ignoring the complexities of those that have 6 weeks a year as opposed to the 5.6 (including BHs) that is the minimum requirement for a FT worker (by days not hours)
