Simple question.....Can a DO simply chose not to do Summer Resourcing?
It's certainly the case at my DO, where not one single piece of the Summer Resourcing Agreement has been implemented or even mentioned to us.
We have simply lapsed 2 deliveries on a daily basis and that's it.
We've not had a video, any meetings or anything.
Some staff are making hours of time every day, whilst others are struggling and getting more and more added to their duties - things that summer resourcing may have helped with.

yes but why would you choose to not do summer resourcing as lapsing can still continue so it will only be for the dom benefit?

Re: Can an DO simply chose not to do Summer Resourcing?
We (the staff) haven't chosen not to do it.
We haven't been told a thing about it and are not doing anything mentioned in it.
That's my point, can our DOM simply ignore it/ or chose not to implement it?
Why has our Area rep not questioned where our proposal for Summer Resourcing is?
Doesn't our local and area rep have to sign this off.
Shouldn't our local rep be in daily meetings to monitor and adjust the plan where necessary?
We have nothing and whilst it may seem to be not such a bad thing, the simple fact is we have many staff making hour upon hour every day on other staff who are pushed to their limits on a daily basis.

Your rep should be insisting on summer lapsing if the office wants it, rep should be having weekly resourcing meetings, if your rep has not been insisting on it you can always go over his head to area rep

This *is* summer resourcing isn't it? That's all we have done. To make up for the downturn in traffic we have to lapse two duties. The problem is, half the office is park and loop, and the drop in mail just means they can finish on time. They have to claim overtime (OK maybe not on an easy tuesday) for doing the lapsing.Mezza wrote: We have simply lapsed 2 deliveries on a daily basis and that's it.
Isn't that Resourcing?
No idea what video's you mean, or what else would be involved in resourcing.

Basically, no that isn't it.
Sounds as if your office may be in the same boat as ours.
