Not true unfortunately. London MCs were the first to get PT staff, in 1985 iirc. There weren't any in Deliveries at least until lately, but I believe there may be now. One of my relatives was offered a PT job, 1000-1400, in my local DO last year - he didn't take it though.

Well it's like this baldrick, I don't recognise MC staff as part of the big picture, no I'm afraid my limited expertise is solely in deliveries where other than lunnun have experienced part timers for the last half dozen years to the extent where many offices have as many part timers as full timers and almost as many non-union members as there are members - now that, despite the bleatings by some, is the reality of how not to preserve full time jobs nationally and allow union membership to be at its lowest for years.

Not unless Labour get in - what is going to happen under the Tories is that they are no longer exclusive, so you'll be able to work for multiple companies on zero hour contracts

Had a very quiet day today even for a Tuesday and of the little sequenced mail TNT made up a third, lose that and we're stuffed

Trying to get tnt workers into the cwu isn't going to have any effect.... all tnt will do is no longer give any work to those that decide to join.
I read something about that DVB apparently you can or will soon be able to work for many companies on zero hour contracts
Maybe in 5 years time we will all work for royal mail and tnt on zero hours
