Manchester mail volumes

We had a briefing a couple of weeks ago about the mail volumes in Manchester central. The royal mail volume has been devastated by TNT introducing its own delivery workforce. This week a senior CWU rep was in our office and had also been up to Manchester to see the effects of the TNT introduction. His words are of prep frames with hardly any letters and just a few flats (didnt mention packets). Are there any from Manchester here to confirm this.

I'm not from Manchester but have heard similar stories. Loss of about 50% of CSS work. We are due to get TNT in our area soon and the plan is apparently to move to one wave on the CSS.

But ofcom has assured us there is no threat to the uso. :crazy:

I am from Manchester nothing on the last two days people finishing at 11.15 that's 2.45 minutes before their time Dom wants 8 walks out of the office. Be prepared guys coming to you soon.

How can Mail volumes drop off a cliff when TNT start delivering in that area? I thought mail volumes dropped 14% in tnt areas? Royal mails constant price rises have given TNT headroom to do it cheaper than us.

Just heard they're coming to Nottingham and Derby. Was sad enough to do a rough estimate of how much TNT stuff I won't be delivering in the future, and I reckon it'll be at least somewhere between 20-30% of letters, never mind packets. Revenue from Amazon has also fallen by 85% since they started delivering their own.

Big job cuts and massive walks coming soon. Just as I've remortgaged pretty much up to the hilt :nana

Manchester mail centre recently absorbed Oldham, Stockport and Bolton mail centres,
would Warrington MC be big enough to take in what is essentially 4 mail centres ?
not saying it's unlikely, i can actually believe it.
