Some letter boxes are a bitch these days with the draught excluders etc, and those long thin ones are the worst somehow seem to rip and chew up anything you put through. I've never heard of anyone getting told off in the office for something as petty as this though, maybe your manager is just being unreasonable? The only option is to knock on the door and give it to her and if shes not there p739 it

I have had a few ladies complain about their bent letters (why always old ladies, or is that just chance?). It only happens at letterboxes with issues like you've described.

One lady had a right go at me in the street so I politely apologised and accompanied her back to her letterbox , placed her single flimsy letter in my posting peg and asked her to try getting it through the letterbox with one hand, without it bending. It's impossible.

She huffed and said that the other postmen all manage it, so I just asked her to watch them and then she'd be able to show me another time. Over a year ago now and she still hasn't got back to me!

A posting peg is not used for this and is even worse for crumpling up the letters.Your Manager should go round and see what the fuss is about and if it's the shitty letterbox tell her to put up with it or change it or even better call in for it every morning.

Explain to your manager that you are having problems posting single flimsy items and could he please put in an intensive training course for you in order that this problem can be addressed. Send it by email or recorded delivery. It will fck him up entirely.

Only tried to use posting peg twice, both times one prong bent, making it useless, at that rate I would need a new one every day at least!. As already said they make the mail even more crumpled too.

Posting pegs are great for 2 uses beyond snappy dogs and finger-nipping letterboxes - very handy for 'persuading' those squidgy clothing parcels to fit through a letterbox with the blunt end, and also for retrieving a misdelivered letter from a wall-mounted box. That saved our bacon when a partner stupidly posted a special in one without thinking!

What really annoys me is when householders complain that the letters are upside down on the doormat.
