Reason For Lapsing...

Reason for lapsing today is because 'David Smith' has phoned in sick. Obviously not the correct name, but naming me on a notice board at the entrance of the office on the first day of sick strikes me as a little bit off? I should add I gave over 24hours notice.

While as a rule depending on the office size your colleagues would know you were sick,as said putting it on a notice board is a big no no,your rep if he/she was there should not of allowed it.

Office relatively small, and everyone knew it was me who was off. It was actually a colleague who informed me, and couldn't believe it had been done. Been there quite a few years now and I've not seen anything like it before.

when off sick on return our dom give back to work and makes sure you know how your duty was covered , who has been move or walk lapsed and then who has had to do extra, i dont care who does what when i am ill, ffs i was to ill to get in

Trying a bit of "Peer Pressure", totally out of order! Your Manager thinks your colleagues are going to do the Bullying for him and basically "Force" you back to work by making you feel guilty. If they're real friends & colleagues they'll support you, if they're not...then they're not worth worrying about.

If they're that upset about the lapsing tell the manager they can't do it in their time, and he'll have to Manage it. You never know he might even drag his ass out of the office and deliver some himself.

Seeing as he was in a chatty informative mood, You could always tell him how reassuring it was to lie in your pit knowing that your valued colleagues were ensuring the mail was delivered. Also that they did it off their own bat without any undue pressure or intimidation, underhand tactics or downright barefaced lies from management was gratifying. Seeing as said management are no doubt subject to extreme temptation to keep to their budget so their bonus will cover the cost of a new kitchen hopefully leading to an begrudgingly angry handjob from their fat ugly pigs of wives, you appreciate their high moral standards in the face of such adversity and didn't enjoy a second of the time you spent rolled in a duvet in the arms of Morpheus.
