Transfer to delivery function from processing

Hello,

I've got a friend working in processing who wants to transfer to the delivery office. He doesn't have a driving license. The management say there are only driving duties available. There are non-driving duties covered on o/t but not advertised as vacancies.

We have asked the cwu rep and written to the area rep and divisional rep because it seems like no one can answer. No one has answered.

Is there someone that can answer questions about this issue?

Problem is all new recruits are hired "with occasional driving" as part of the job description and it would be difficult to allow a voluntary transfer into deliveries if they didn't match the skills. That may also be the reason why no one is answering- no one has an answer.

Thanks, I don't mind if the answer is 'tough luck', I just hoped to get a response. It seems like management can move the goal posts all the time.
